As the engines roar to life and three Cadillac V-Series.R hybrid race cars prepare for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and FIA World Endurance Championship races at Sebring, the team at Central Cadillac near Beachwood gears up for a historic celebration. Cadillac is launching a year-long tribute to its V-Series performance sub-brand, marking its 20th anniversary in 2024.
Cadillac made a daring move nearly 20 years ago that made a lasting impression on the luxury performance landscape. The V-Series began its journey in March 2004 at Sebring International Raceway, where the CTS-V.R race car debuted and claimed victory in the SCCA Pro Racing World Challenge GT race. This monumental win sparked a transformative legacy at Cadillac, fueled by a symbiotic connection between its championship-winning motorsports program and the road vehicles it inspired.
The fifth generation of V-Series is also making waves in the racing world with the electrified Cadillac V-Series.R prototype race car, competing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar and FIA World Endurance Championship. This historic year will see Cadillac return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, after more than two decades, fielding three cars in the iconic endurance race.
Each of the 13 V-Series sedan, coupe, roadster, and SUV models released since the inaugural 2004 CTS-V owes its performance excellence to lessons learned on the racetrack. The current lineup features the Cadillac CT4-V and twin-turbocharged CT4-V Blackwing, the CT5-V and supercharged CT5-V Blackwing, and the supercharged Escalade-V. With a 682-horsepower output, the new Escalade-V currently holds the title of the most powerful production model Cadillac has ever made.
