If so, you're in luck. Cadillac is bringing manual transmission back to its V-Series Blackwings due to popular demand, and that's thanks in part to 3D printing. Cadillac uses 3D-printed parts to prototype its models all the time, but this will be the first production model with functional 3D-printed parts.

Along with a 3D-printed medallion on the manual shifter knob, the 2022 CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing will use 3D-printed parts for two HVAC ducts and an electrical harness bracket. These parts are built with durability in mind, and the additive manufacturing process has allowed Cadillac to reduce the cost and waste of developing the manual transmission.

Both V-Series Blackwings will come with a quiet, six-speed manual transmission standard, with an option to get a ten-speed automatic transmission. They'll be available in limited numbers this summer, so keep an eye out and grab them when you can.
